Matumba Project

Matumba “temporary housing”

Purpose:

This project is to help the Mashoko Hospital in Zimbabwe build houses as they minister to pregnant women in rural Zimbabwe.

In rural Zimbabwe pregnant women show up to the hospital in their 8 month of pregnancy and stay until the birth of their child takes place.  The hospital has room for 55 ladies but they average 95!  Space is needed.  Ninety-five ladies, every day that they are at the hospital, get the opportunity to hear the gospel.

What’s Needed:

We plan on building two, 1900 sq. ft buildings to help with overcrowding.  The Matumba is a very important outreach to the hospital.  By building two more buildings we are showing these women who are in overcrowded conditions that the hospital loves them and is concerned about their health.  Meeting needs was Jesus model for advancing his gospel.  The buildings will be steel buildings that sit on a slab.  We will insulate the buildings and cool them with solar powered fans.

The Project:

Raise $15,000 capital. (Money will be used for shortfall on material donations, shipping, & foundations)

Acquire the building material and have it shipped to FAME (logistical mission for global medical missionaries) in Indianapolis.

Acquire the tools needed to construct buildings in Mashoko, Zimbabwe.

The Plan:

Partner with 4 congregations to work together toward completing the project.

Get 100 people to commit to praying over this project every day during 2013.

Write letters for donations of building materials and donations for supplies.

In 2014 take teams for supporting churches to construct buildings in Mashoko.
